A handmade cotton underbust corset, built in three layers and shaped with spiral steel bones through the body and flat steel bones at the front and back. A steel busk closes the front, the back laces up over a modesty panel, and a short lace-up opening at each hip lets the lower edge sit smoothly over your hips.

Wear it over a chemise or a blouse at a Renaissance faire, or with a long skirt for Victorian and steampunk looks.

Cotton outer fabric backed with cotton interfacing and fully lined in cotton: three layers in all
Spiral steel bones through the body, flat steel bones at the front and back
Steel busk at the front
Laces up the back through nickel-plated brass eyelets, over a modesty panel
Lace-up opening at each hip
Twill waist tape sewn inside to take the strain at the waist
Comes with about 9 m (10 yd) of lacing cord
Black, wine red or navy

How to put it on

Loosen the back laces well and open the hip laces first. Wrap the corset around you and close the steel busk from the top down. Pull the back laces in a little at a time, working from the top and the bottom towards the waist, then tie them. Tie the hip laces so the lower edge lies smoothly over your hips. To take it off, loosen the back laces before you open the busk.

Our note: Pick your size by your natural waist. The maker cuts each corset about 4 in (10 cm) smaller than the waist it is made for, shown as the corset waist in the chart, so it shapes your waist when laced. If you are new to steel boned corsets, lace it gently at first and wear it for a few hours at a time.
